The problem with most lone worker solutions

The issue with many lone worker safety solutions is that most products in this space start with the answer already decided. A vendor sells a pendant, so every worker gets a pendant. Another sells an app, so everything runs through a phone. A third has built their business on one satellite network, so that is what you get, whether your people need it or not.

The trouble is that lone work is not one problem. A duress button is useless to someone driving through a blackspot. A phone app is useless to someone whose site bans phones. A satellite device is overkill for a carer working in the suburbs, and paying satellite airtime for a hundred metro workers because five of them go remote is just wasted money.

Buy a single-product solution and you end up doing one of two things. You force the product onto workers it does not suit, or you run three disconnected systems side by side, with three sets of alerts and no single view of who is safe and who is not.
