workM8.io Vehicle Service
workM8.io provides a fully featured cloud hosted vehicle tracking and fleet management solution without the usual overheads.
The workM8.io design and deployment options disrupt the standard high cost commercial models seen in the telematics market. The platform provides all the features needed to manage, track and maintain a large (and small) vehicle fleets whilst at the same time delivering additional tools to end users not usually associated with ‘vehicle tracking’.
Feature Rich
The workM8.io Vehicle service provides information on vehicle behaviour, driver behaviour and route history.

Tracking and Driver Behavior
Once paired with the vehicle, workM8.io will record the individual trips made by any vehicle. Route taken, speed and distance are all recorded and can be accessed via the portal for auditing or review of behavior.
For larger fleet deployments bespoke rules can be created relating to certain event such as over-speed, very high RPM or G-forces outside of the agreed range. Alerts may simply be the generation of an email to the driver or a multi-channel alarm to a group of people advising that the driver may need assistance (see Alerting and Duress).
Due to the manner in which workM8.io is deployed, all of the tracking data (and other functionality) can be extended to any vehicle (manufactured after 1996). The simple install also allows fleet vehicles, hire vehicles and personal vehicles all to be monitored in the same way.
Alerting and Duress
workM8.io was born out of the need for worker safety and as with the 'Duress' provided for lone worker, the in-vehicle solution monitors worker safety.
An individual or employee in the field is still able to trigger a request for help through the workM8.io application but as workM8.io in-vehicle is constantly monitoring key metics such as speed, heat and g-force, the process of requesting help is automated when an event outside of the expected parameters is detected.
For instance, if a vehicle rollover or sudden stop is detected, workM8.io will make calls, send emails and other messages to defined groups or individuals. The content of all messages will include name, number and location (including map). The workM8.io portal provides real-time data as well as a record of locations and vehicle behaviour in the lead up to an alarming event.
Service Reminders and Registration Alerts
If a service alarm is triggered by the vehicle, workM8.io will display this alarm through the web portal but can also generate an email to one or more people. In addition to this 'reactive alarming', reminders can be set for scheduled services, tax, insurance and registration events.
This functionality is useful for individuals as well as fleet managers looking after hundreds vehicles.
Engine Diagnostics
By constantly monitoring data from the vehicle computer (via Bluetooth connection from the OBD port), workM8.io can provide drivers and managers with both real-time and historic vehicle health data. Some of the key metrics include:

workM8.io provides an end to end service including 3G/4G SIM* and plug and play OBD hardware. Although the platform is designed to provide a full suite of fleet management functionality through this deployment model, workM8 also supports installed 4G modems, satellite-connected hardware or Sigfox/Lora devices. The platform is designed to be device- and hardware-agnostic allowing all vehicle types and auxiliary equipment such as trailers, water pumps mobile signs to be monitored through a single interface.
Reporting Dashboard
Key metrics such a vehicle location, real-time speed and route taken are visible for the entire vehicle fleet through a securely-hosted on-line portal. Metrics such as number of pick-ups, distance traveled, engine warning messages can also be displayed through configurable widgets or simply generated in report format for certain time periods.
