remote welfare monitoring
Lone worker safety
Monitor staff location through wearables and the workM8 app. Automate welfare checks, dwell time monitoring and provide duress workflow.
iot and workflows for worker safety
Supporting wearables and leveraging the workM8 tools. Monitor, check and react to staff safety needs
Access pre-built employee safety tools or customise for a specifc environment. workM8 automates duty of care based checks and OH&S processes by leveraging data from the mobile app, wearable or other environmental sensors.
Simplicity and redundancy are behind everything we do
The mobile app is designed for ease of use, requiring minimal taps or swipes to request assistance. It supports a range of wearables, including smartwatches and Bluetooth fobs, for convenience in different situations. Once help is requested, an alert is immediately sent to predefined escalation points—operations centers, managers, or others—via email, voice, SMS, or app notifications for a prompt response.
Assistance from Mobile App or dedicated device
- workM8 supports lone worker safety tools through the workM8 mobile application and a range of dedicated hardware devices.
- Request assistance when working alone in the field.
- Automate timer based safety checks
- Capture accurate location data through the handset or wearable.
- Pre-certified device supported with tools to integrate with third party hardware or applications.
- Customisable workflows and escalation rules.
- Watches, name badges, pendants and intrinsically safe devices are all supported.
Example workflow
Duress & Safety, when an alarm is not enough...
Streamlined tasks in the field
By configuring geo-fences, the workM8 portal can automate actions based on the location of a specific individual. This could be pushing data to the individuals’ handset relating to a safety process or task. Initiate safety checklists based on accessing specific areas, confirming PPE or training requirements. Build besopke rules for your organisation within the workM8 platform.
personal alarming
Assistance
workM8 allows staff in the field to request assistance through the mobile application or through a wearable connected device. When an assistance request is raised the control room may deploy resources to the location of the individual. By using the Team Assist Service, workM8 can determine the location of colleagues and prioritise dispatch based on response time.
Feaures
Wayfinding & Task Management
Leveraging the flexibility of the workM8s platform, organisations can automate tasks, data capture and other processes. workM8 provides the tools to quickly design, prototype, build and deploy the optimal workflow for a specific job or environment.
NFC TAGS
Low cost tags provide a solution for internal and external assets to be ‘tapped’ by the end users with the workM8 application running on their mobile device
VIRTUAL GEO-FENCES
requiring no physical tags, areas/fixed assets maybe geo-fenced by workM8 and a virtual check-in recorded in each time the mobile application (using the GPS on the handset) detects entry into one of these areas.
QR CODES/STICKER
Used to achieve the same outcomes as NFC tags QR codes are another low cost solution for ensuing staff are at a specific location the QR code automates the check-in with the workM8 mobile application providing a validated GPS location
RFID
Often the technology choice when mobile phones are not used/ issued and/or clear entry/exit points can be defined. Data from RFID tags and readers is collected by workM8 to automate processes and reporting.
BLUETOOTH BEACONS
More automated solution which may use the workM8 application on the mobile phone or standalone devices to track staff. Bluetooth can provide full automation and accuracy within a building
MANUAL
Finally, manual check-ins to a location can be recorded through the workM8 mobile application on a staff members mobile phone. An input button or a digital form (when additional information needs to be captured) will ensure there is a timestamped GPS record.
PRODUCTIVITY
Tools for safety and productivity
The workM8.io Application is a Remote Worker Safety Application designed to run on your Android or iOS device. Primarily workM8.io operates over cellular and WiFi but has also been developed to run across the Iridium Satellite network with the correct hardware.
Check-in & Check-out
Cellular Geo-fencing, RFID, NFC and Bluetooth are all data capture methods workM8 supports in order to allow start and end, entry and exit times to be captured. workM8 will automatically record these data points and allow processes to be further automated with rules set around pre-defined variables. Time sheeting processes may also be automated and streamlined with workM8 interacting with time and attendance systems
Dwell Time
How long should an individual be in an area? Are they in danger if they exceed that time? workM8 can monitor entry and exit times for defined geo-fences and build a business process should the expected time be exceeded. Importantly workM8 provides the flexibility for the times and locations to be fixed by head office or defined real-time by remote workers (mental health nurses, council wardens, utilities workers etc).
Safety Rules
Do staff have the correct PPE equipment? Are they trained to be in an area? Do they have permission to work? Safety processes and checks can be automated through the workM8 Application based on an individuals location. Other rules such as speed limits on-site versus off-site may also be defined when workM8 is tracking a vehicle.
Evacuation & Mustering
The most suitable hardware and data channels will be dependent on environment but workM8 can use Bluetooth beacons, RFID at entry points, Wi-Fi and cellular to assist with roll calls. With a record of real-time and historic staff location during an event workM8 allows organisations to quickly understand which individuals are unaccounted for.
